I created this magazine out of a deep love for stories - stories of creativity, resilience, and the people who inspire, teach, and motivate us every day. I believe in giving people their flowers while they are here, and in building a space where talent is not only recognised but celebrated.
The idea for Jkkspace was born during a time when I felt excluded from an industry that often celebrates individualism, but only selectively decides who gets a seat at the table. I realised then: enough is enough. Fashion and creativity should be accessible to all - no matter your social or financial background. Jkkspace is my way of opening the doors wider, of creating a space where everyone belongs.
This magazine exists to spotlight independent brands, businesses, and creatives who are too often overlooked. Many of them struggle without recognition or support, and sometimes their brilliance never reaches the audience it deserves. My hope is for Jkkspace to be the destination where people can discover, support, and grow alongside these voices - building not just visibility, but community.
Our mission is simple: to shine a light on both emerging and established talent, and to create a platform where they can flourish as we grow together. At the heart of our storytelling are values of inclusion, encouragement, love, and support. We want every feature, every interview, and every story to connect with you - to make you feel, to make you think, and to inspire you to stand with independent creatives everywhere.
This is more than just a magazine; it’s a movement toward a more inclusive and supportive creative industry. And we’d love for you to be part of it. Join our newsletter to stay connected, discover new stories as they’re published, and get a closer look at the community we’re building together.
Thank you for being here at the beginning of this journey. I can’t wait to see how far we go - with you alongside us.
With love, Jerome Katende Kasusula Editor-in-Chief, Jkkspace
